The fifth American magazine devoted to golf. These volumes, bound in half morocco with raised bands, belonged to America’s foremost golf architect A. W. Tillinghast who has inscribed, in pencil, on the front free endpaper “From the first issue I contributed under the nom de plume of “Hazard”. I continued until the Spring of 1911, when I gave it up, giving the Public Ledger articles the preference. A.W.T. Besides the comments I sent in from time to time bits of doggerel. “Mother Goose on the Links” etc. He has marked all his contributions in pencil as well. A truly magnificent set with incredible provenance. Only one other listing of these volumes in ULS, at NYPL.
