Initially a dry weekly literay magazine, most collectible for its forty-seven cover illustrations by Norman Rockwell between 1918 and 1923, that by this time had evolved into a TIME competitor in format. The cover story is a “mammoth nationwide poll” of the upcoming presential election. Amazingly, the prediction was that Kansas Governor Alf Landon would deeat incumbent Franklin Roosevelt by wide popular and electoral margins. The results of the election were so discordant (Landon carrried only Maine and Vermont0 that the magazine rapidly folded.
