The first periodical in America exclusively devoted to sports. It was founded by John S. Skinner, who also founded the first important American agricultural journal (141). It is embellished with superb engravings. Volume 3 contains an article by James Fenimore Cooper. The later volumes are harder to obtain. Complete sets are scarce and valuable.
