Initially edited by Edward Youmans, who later edited “Popular Science Monthly” (808), it is loaded with exciting and beautiful metropolitan scenes and American views done by Homer and others, and twenty four illustrated supplements, many being large fold-outs up to 11″x 28″ in size. According to Mott, ‘few periodicals furnished a better picture of the varied life of the times.’ |
