This issue is special for two reasons. It contains the first magazine engraving taken from a Daguerreotype, od Rhode Island Senator Dorr. It is also a presentation copy to Dorr’s wife by editor John L. O’Sullivan who is most famous for coining the term “manifest destiny”, which first appeared in another issue of this important political magazine,
