A well-produced monthly humor magazine with a format similar to Life (921), designed as an advertising vehicle for Mann Brothers Department Store. The first names of the brothers are not identified but E. D. Mann and his older brother William D’Alton Mann were publishers of the highbrow scandal sheet Town Topics (1885 -1937) and the latter of importance as the founder of Smart Set (1087) (1900 – 1930). It may be more than coincidental that both of these were publishers in the same city, contemporarily to the above. |
