A very early, and perhaps the first serious journal devoted to the treatment of alcohol and drug abuse. It was edited by Joseph Parrish, M.D. and issued quarterly from the Sanitarium at Media, PA. An advertisement for the sanitarium appears on the inner front wrapper. Other than temperance magazines, which attack the subject with a religious fervor, this is the earliest magazine located which takes a serious academic and scientific approach to the subject. |
