This is the first issue of the new series, started after an eleven year hiatus. Other than three appearances of James Fenimore Cooper, this series does not contain contributions as important as the first. It lasted until November 1870, when it merged into “Scribner’s Monthly.” A third series (A1106) of seven volumes appeared from October 1906 to April 1910. |
