Category: | Juvenile |
Local ID: | 4511 |
Date: | October 1910 |
Published in: | New York, NY |
A surprisingly well-produced monthly children’s magazine published by a 15 year old, Beatrice Beck, the daughter of a prominent political figure. A handwritten note inside the front cover describes how it folded after one month when the editor found she couldn’t keep up with her homework! An offbeat and quaint piece of publishing history and most probably the only remaining copy. Unrecorded in ULS. Ms. Beck was later a prominent NY socialite who published a memoir of her life ( also included). |
