|Initially, a weekly “dignified, authentic journal of society, fashion, and the ceremonial side of life”, also containing some humor, designed for the upper crust of New York society. After its purchase in 1909 Conde Nast, under the editorship of Edna Chase, it evolved into a bi-monthly, high-class influential fashion magazine. After 1910, it featured beautiful art-deco covers by, among others, Erte, which are highly sought after.|
